About Brazilian Butt Lift
Who is a Candidate?
Individuals who feel that their buttocks are disproportionately small for their body, and would like to achieve a more balanced look, or those who have experienced weight loss that has left their buttocks sagging or flat can often benefit from a Brazilian Butt Lift. Ideal candidates will be in good general health, be nonsmokers, and have realistic expectations for the outcome of their procedure.
The Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure
During this procedure, excess fat from other areas of the body is used to enhance and shape the buttocks. Liposuction be used to remove fatty tissue from areas with excess fat such as the abdomen, hips, back, or thighs. The fat is then processed for transfer and injected into the buttocks using syringes connected to cannulas. This fat is injected at multiple levels to ensure a smooth deposit to lift and augment the buttocks. Any incisions are then closed with sutures.
Results and Recovery
Following a Brazilian Butt Lift, patients will need to wear a compression garment over the areas where liposuction was performed to reduce swelling and support the new body contours. Bruising, swelling, and discomfort are to be expected. Most patients may need to take about two weeks off from work, however, BSI plastic surgeons provide you will a detailed recovery timeline. Physical activity should be avoided for about 2-3 weeks, and strenuous activity for 4-6 weeks.
