Skin Microneedling for Acne Scars

About Microneedling

To minimize the signs of aging, diminish sun spots, acne scars, melasma, stretch marks and hyperpigmentation, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone and improve collagen production, Microneedling may offer you a minimally invasive solution. Also known as collagen induction therapy, Microneedling is a non-invasive procedure that is ideal for all skin tones. The Microneedling treatment uses the Eclipse MicroPen, which creates tiny pinholes in the top layer of the skin, activating the body’s response to start healing and producing new collagen, thereby creating “new” skin.ners, and registered nurses

How Does it Work?

At the beginning of the treatment, a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ensure there’s little to no pain. While the patient is relaxed and lying down, the provider will glide the microneedle over the treatment area, stimulating collagen production to address skin concerns.

Who is a Candidate?

Microneedling is considered safe for most people in overall good health. Microneedling is a highly effective treatment that can benefit people of all skin tones. Whether you have fine lines & wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation and blotchy skin, you could achieve great benefits from this treatment. Microneedling may not be suitable for people who use certain acne medications, have open wounds, cuts or abrasions, have had radiation skin treatment within the last year, are suffering from any skin infection or condition or herpes simplex in the area of concern, have any history of keloid or hypertrophic scars or poor wound healing, or are pregnant or breast feeding.

What can I Expect?

You will notice a vibrant, even, smooth appearance in your skin very quickly. Immediately after the treatment, as micro-needles have lightly penetrated the skin’s surface, it also produces a mild-inflammatory response, which is the reason for minor redness of the skin. This redness should diminish within 24-48 hours. After the treatment, you will continue to see a visible difference in the skin’s appearance and texture over the first few days and into the following weeks. You may need several treatments for the best results.

Safety & Side Effects

Immediately after treatment, your skin will have a mild to moderate sunburn appearance, with slight swelling. The skin may also feel tighter than normal and dry.

Recovery Time

Side effects will diminish greatly after a few hours following treatment, and within the next 24-48 hours, the redness will diminish and skin will be healed.

Does it Hurt?

A patient can expect little to no pain during treatment.
